There’s something to be said for couples that are willing to push the envelope and embrace all things new and different. But by the same token, tradition can give way to precious moments that can be tweaked and manipulated into a new trend just for you. So does it always mean out with the old and in with the new? Here’s our take on our favorite 2017 trending elements that couples will choose.

Green with Envy: If you have not heard, Pantone named Greenery the color of the year. It symbolizes a new beginning and transition. With this amazing bright and lively color, the outdoors that so many of us love now gets to come alive inside your wedding venue. Think lush vines, draping moss, to gridded out tent displays! Step back and take a breath and breathe in all the lushness around you as this trend is hot.

Hang me some garland and bring in those trees: Since we’re on the topic of greenery, let’s chat oral design. 2016 was a great year to see the beginning of some hang- ing installation pieces. 2017 is all about how much you hang and what shapes you can achieve. With bright col- ors now coming in, we’re seeing and hearing many of our couples wanting to bring in trees, vinery, and hanging oral installations of many shapes and sizes. We’re over the moon to see the geometric patterns, bright pops of greens, stunning colored plates and lush garlands.

Let the party begin: 2017 is proving to be all about the ongoing party. Many couples are choosing to do three-day events, starting with hosting all their guests at a rehearsal dinner in one location, to their wedding in another followed by the after-party. Another trend that is going to be hot for 2017 is the after-party itself. It used to be some simple hot snacks and a DJ. Now it’s about creating an entire theme around the after-party, with photo booths, live music or an interactive DJ and going until the wee hours of the morning. The list is long and extensive of what you can do!

Drink up: I can remember last season and the season before where I would ask my clients if they wanted a sig- nature drink. One or two would usually choose to do something simple that everyone would like. is season is di erent, and we love it! Cocktail hours are trending into mixology havens. Creating anything that is colored, whimsical, artisanal or just plain out of the box now cre- ates an exceptional guest experience.

Our last favorite trend is the ceremony. Many of our couples are choosing to focus on this one moment. This one moment that is not about the guest experience, but where the couple invites the guests into an intimate gathering that is the couple’s experience. It is the ultimate moment to be quiet and witnessed and honored.
